Anthony Tyler Cicerchia, 20, of East Second Street, Berwick, died Saturday morning, Dec. 9, 2006, as the result of an auto accident on Rittenhouse Mill Road in Berwick.
Born May 18, 1986, in Berwick, he was the son of Tyler and Maureen (Weaver) Cicerchia. A graduate of Berwick High School in 2004, he was a member of the Berwick football team for four years and the Berwick wrestling team for one year. He attended Bloomsburg University, where he was a member of the ACACIA fraternity. He then attended Mesa Community College in Mesa, Ariz., and was currently a junior at Penn State University, Main Campus, majoring in broadcast journalism. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. Anthony was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Berwick.
Preceding him in death was his paternal grandfather, Geno Cicerchia.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his two sisters, Gena Cicerchia and Gabriella Cicerchia, and one brother, Michael Cicerchia, all at home; paternal grandmother, Bernice Cicerchia, of Shickshinny; maternal grandparents, William and Burna Weaver, of Berwick; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, from St. Joseph Catholic Church, 721 Monroe St., Berwick, with the Rev. Dennis G. Dalessandro, his pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Berwick. A visitation will be held Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. from the Mayo Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Chestnut St., Berwick.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Ave. New York, NY 10021 or the Anthony Cicerchia Memorial Fund, 201 W. Front St., Berwick, PA 18603.
