Anthony "Tony" Melchiorre

Anthony C. "Tony" Melchiorre of Bushkill, Pa., and formerly of Berwick, Pa., a construction worker, died Thursday at his home in Bushkill, Pa., after a long battle with cancer. He was 49.
Born in Berwick, Pa., he graduated from Berwick High School and attended Boston College, class of 1977, and was a star fullback on the football team who played in the great win over Texas in 1976. He had lived in Bushkill for the past 13 years.
Mr. Melchiorre was the superintendent of restoration for Sterling One Source in New York City.
He was a member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church in Marshalls Creek, Pa.; the Rosetto Rod & Gun Club; the Maria Assunta Society; the Berwick High School Football All American Team; the Big 33 and the West Berwick Hoses Co. He was an Eagle Scout, received the Order of Arrow and the Michael J. Dalberto Award and was a Berwick Hall of Fame Athlete. He enjoyed cooking and making wine, a family tradition.
Mr. Melchiorre is survived by his wife, Mariaelena (Pardo); his mother, Jacqueline (Lovecchio) of Berwick, Pa.; three daughters, Amy of Berwick, Pa., and Ashley and Gabriella, both of Bushkill, Pa.; three sons, Anthony Jr. of Washington, D.C., and Lorenzo and Thomas, both of Bushkill, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. today at St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Marshalls Creek, Pa.
Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Berwick, Pa.
